Ladiesandgentlemen,Goodmorning!I’msopleasuretostandheretogiveaspeechtoyou.MytopictodayisaboutAlbertEinstein,oneofthegreatestscientistofthe20thcentury.AlbertEinsteinwasborninUlm,Germanyin1879.Ein-stein'sfatherisabusinessman.Heownsafactorythatproduceselectricalequipment.Asachild,Einsteinwasveryquiet,andheoftenalonetokilltime.Hehadaslowlanguageandhaddifficultyinreading.However,heisespeciallyin-terestedintheprinciplesofthingsandoftenraisesmanyquestions.WhenEinsteinwas5yearsold,hisfathergavehimacom-pass.Hewassurprisedtofindthatthecompassneedlealwayspointstothenorth,soheaskedhisfatherandunclewhatreasontomovethepointer.However,itwashardforthemtoanswerthemagneticandgravitationalforces,butEinsteinstillspentalotoftimethinkingabouttheproblem.EinsteinwontheNobelprizeforphysicsin1921.Hisprizewasnotduetothetheoryofrelativity,butbecausehehaddiscoveredthelawofthephotoelectriceffectwhichhasdriventhedevelopmentofmodernelectronics,includingradioandtelevision.WhileEinsteinbecameacelebrity,hehadfewclosefriendsandfeltlonely.Hesaid,“Thephysi-cistssaythatIamamathematician,andthemathemati-cianssaythatIamaphysicist.Iamacompletelyisolatedmanandthougheverybodyknowsme,thereareveryfewpeoplewhoreallyknowme.”Einsteinputthelast25yearsofhislifeintheunifiedfieldtheory.Hewantedtofindageneralmathematicalformulathatlinksallthefieldsofphysics.ButEinsteindidn’tfinishthisworkuntilhedepartedfromthislifeattheageof76.Thanksforyourattention.
