AnAnalysisofHamletinWilliamShakespeare’sHamletName:潘维红Class:商英1123Number:11239023151对威廉莎士比亚的作品哈姆雷特中哈姆雷特的分析摘要:“一千个读者,就有一千个哈姆雷特.”哈姆雷特的形象已经远远地超过了作品的本身。本文从人文主义和独白两大角度来分析哈姆雷特的性格特征。关键词:人文主义、独白、性格特征AnAnalysisofHamletinWilliamShakespeare’sHamletAbstract:“ThereareathousandHamletsinathousandreader’seyes.”Hamlet’simagehasbeenfarmorethantheworkitself.ThearticleanalyzesthecharactertraitsofHamletfromthehumanismandsoliloquy.Keywords:humanismsoliloquycharactertraits1.MainintroductionTheking,Hamlet’sfatherdiedstrangelywhilehewassleepinginthegardenofhiscastle.Hamletwassosadandsorrowfulthatheneverstoppedwearingblackclothes.Afterhisfather’sdeath,hisuncle,ClaudiusbecametheKingofDenmarkandmarriedhismother.Hebecameangrywithbothofthemandcametodespisehismotheraswellashisuncle.Onenight,inthegarden,Hamletmethisfather’sghostandknewthetruththathisfatherwasmurderedbyhisuncle.Uponhearingthis,HamletbecameexcitedandwasevenmorefuriouswithClaudiusandhismother.Hemadeuphismindtokillhisuncleandlethismotherrepentforhersins.Buthehesitatedatfirstandcouldnotdecideallofthesethings.Sohepretendedtobecrazyandwantedtothinkoverthesethings.Hisunclesenthisofficertowatchhimtomakesurewhetherhewascrazytruly.Afterthis,Hamletdisbelievedanybody,evenhisloverOphelia.UnfortunatelyhekilledOphelia’sfather,whichdrovehercrazyand2finallyshediedbydrowning.Thetragedybecameandatlasttheywerealldead.2.AnalysisfromhumanismUnderthebeliefofhumanism,peopleareelegantinappearance,pureinsoul,braveinaction,bothwithpassion,sensibility,equalityanddignity.Butwhenfacingwiththegrimreality,humanitybecomesevil,contemptible,capriciousandlonely.Hamletisahumanistboundbyidealandreality.Hehasthenicehopeforeverythingintheuniverseincludingthehumanbeingsandthesociety,butthecruelandrepulsiverealitybreakshisdreamandhishumanisticbelieflater.Butafterall,melancholyHamletdoesn’tlosethebeliefthatmanisthebeautyoftheworld,theparagonoftheanimalsandgiveshislifetothiseternalbelief.Asahumanist,thehesitationonthewayofHamlet’srevengeshowsthegreatdisparitybetweenthehumanismherepresentsandfeudalism.Ontheotherhand,thehesitationalsoshowstheauthor’sreflectionoftheRenaissanceMovement,theworryaboutthefatesofhumanandthefutureofthesociety.Althoughathisfirstappearance,heisadejectedprince,dressedinblackandwithaseriousfacialexpression,butintheearlyperiodoftime,hehadanenthusiasticspiritandpositiveattitudetowardslife.Tohim,humanisthegreatworkofthenature,everythingiswonderful.Butafterhisfather’sdeath,hismother’smarriage,hisuncle’susurpationandhisgirlfriend’sbetrayal,everythingchangeinhislifeandhehastofacemanychoices.ThemisfortuneinhislifeandthesufferingofthehumanmakeHamletfallintothedeepsadnessandmelancholy.Theoppressor’swrong,theproudman’scontumely,thepangsofdespis’dlove,thelaw’sdelay,theinsolenceofoffice,andthespurns,alloftheseneedhimtodeal.TheconflictbetweenHamletandClaudiusisthebiggestconflictintheplay,anditrepresentstheconflictbetweenthehumanismandfeudalism,theconflictbetweenthehumanistidealsandtherealgloomysociety.Inthegrimreality,Hamlettakeshisresponsibilitytofightagainstwithallthesethingsconsciously.3.AnalysisfromsoliloquyHamletisthemostfamoussoliloquyinShakespeare’splays.Inthissoliloquy,Hamlethitsuponamentalnadir.“Tobeornottobe,thatisthequestion.”Ashe3considerssuicide,Hamletkeepsaskinghimselfifitismorehonorabletolivewithlife'smisfortunesortodieyoungandbypassallthehardships.Heknowsnothingaboutthedeathexceptthefinal,thatis“theundiscoveredcountryfromwhosebournnotravelerreturns”.Heisafraidofthedeath,wonderingaboutwhatwouldhappenafterdeath,whichmightbemoreterriblethantherealworld.Butatlasthechoosestosurvivetofightagainstwithallthedarkforces.Howbraveheis!Usinghisreasonandintelligencetofightalone.Wecan’tseehishesitationofthedeathasothers,onthecontrary,it’stheexpressionofthinking.Sometimes,Hamletshowsdoubts,shakeandweakwills,however,thisisnothisrealcharacter.Bynature,Hamletisstrongenoughandenergeticwithamagnificentsoul.Heismagnificentandstrongevenintimesofsetbacks,sinceamanofdeterminationmakesfarwiserchoicesattryingmomentsthanavulnerablestrivingman.4.ConclusionThegreatconflictbetweenthegloriousidealsofhumanistsandthedarkrealityofsocietymakesHamletmorepowerfulandalive.HamletisarepresentativeofhumanisminRenaissance.Fromhissoliloquy,welearntheimportanceofchoosingourlife.It’snotjustaboutdeathorsurvival,it’sthewayhowwerealizeourvaluation.5.BibliographyJiangganfeng.TheCharacterAnalysisofHamlet.JournalofNanchangCollege.No.2(Sum93).Apr.2003Belinskiy,V.G..(1948).SelectedPhilosophicalWorks.Moscow:ForeignLanguagesPublishingHouse.Hegel,G.W.F.(1885).Aesthetics.Chicago:S.C.GriggsandCompanyWolff,Anita.(2002).BritannicaConciseEncyclopedia.London:OverseaPublishingHouse.许鸿起,《试论哈姆雷特“延宕”的根源》.天津成人高等学校联合学报,2002.1
