龙源期刊网作者:马芳霞来源:《速读·上旬》2018年第10期Abstract:CoreCompetencieshascaughtmoreandmoreattentionofresearcherssinceitwasactuallyproposed.ThisarticlefocusesoncorecompetenciesofEnglishsubjectmainly.Backgroundanddefinitionofcorecompetencies;basisandcomponentsofcorecompetenciesofEnglishsubject,thesefouraspectsarementioned.Byanalyzingtheseaspects,peoplewillrealizetheimportanceofcorecompetenciesofEnglishsubject.ItwillgivepeoplespecificobjectivestolearnEnglishandmakethemknowexactlywhattheyshouldlearnandhowtolearnEnglishaswell.KeyWords:corecompetencies;Englishsubject;culturalawareness1BackgroundoftheCoreCompetenciesIn2014,MinistryofEducationissuesseveralpoliciesaboutdeepeningthecurriculumreforminanall-roundway,whichproposedtostudyanddraftaqualitystandardofstudents’developmentandtheiracademicquality.Moreover,itpointedoutthatcorecompetenciesisthenecessarycharacteristicsforstudentstoadaptlifelongdevelopmentandmeettheneedsofsociety.Inaddition,thepracticeofincorporatingcorecompetenciesintothecurriculumisalsoadvancinginothercountriesaccordingtotheirownrealities.ResearchesoncorecompetenciesinChinahasbeenfruitful,whichdeepenstherevolutionofeducationactually.2DefinitionofCoreCompetenciesCorecompetenciesofstudents’developmentmainlyreferstothenecessaryqualitiesandcoreabilitiesthatstudentsshouldpossesstobeabletomeettheneedsoflifelongdevelopmentandsocialdevelopment.Fromthisdefinition,itisn’tdifficulttofindthatcorecompetenciesarekindofqualitiesandabilitiestohelpstudentstobemoreadaptive.3TheContentsofCoreCompetenciesofEnglishSubjectItwillhelpustounderstandthecorecompetenciesofEnglishtolearnthecomponentsitsconnotation.Learningcourseshouldnotonlytakeknowledgeandskillsthatstudentsneedintoaccount,butalsotakethethingsthatstudentscoulddointhefuturebylearningEnglishandthecharacteristics.Tounderstandcorecompetenciesbetter,studentsshouldrealizethatthesefourfourcomponentsaresoimportant.3.1LanguageCompetencies龙源期刊网,speaking,readingandwriting,butthecompetenciesofunderstandinglanguage,languageconsciousnessandcommunicativeidentityconsciousness.3.2ThinkingQualityLanguageisclosetothinking.Learningandusinglanguagemustneedthehelpofthinking.Meanwhile,learningandusinglanguagecanfurtherpromotethedevelopmentofthinking.Mostresearchersbelievethatanumberofactivitiesinclasscanhelpstudentstopromotetheirabilityofthinking.Moreover,thinkingqualityisdifferentfromgeneralsenseofthinkingandunderstandingandexpressiveabilityinlanguage.Insteadof,itisconnectedtosomethinkingqualityinEnglishlearning.Inotherwords,thinkingindifferentperspectivesandsolvingtheproblemsindifferentperspectiveswillgivestudentsafurtherunderstandingonlearningdifferentlanguages.3.3CulturalCharacterCorecompetenciesofculturalcharacterdoesn’tmeanthatstudentsshouldlearnsomeculturalphenomenonandemotionalattitudeanditsvaluesonly.Moreover,itinvolvesculturaltraditionandsocialculturephenomenonreflectedinevaluatingtext.Fromthisaspect,itisnotsodifficulttofindthatculturalcharacterexceedscross-culturalawarenessandinterculturalcommunication.Thatis,culturalcharacterinvolvesmanyaspects,butitcanbetaughtinclass,whichneedstheeffortsofteachersmostly.3.4LearningCapacityEveryonemustholdanattitudethatheshouldkeeplearninginhiswholelifeandmustpossessthecompetenciestolearnbyhimself.AsstudentsofChina,itissosignificanttodeveloptheirabilitytostudy,especiallyforprimaryschoolstudentsandmiddleschoolstudents.TolearnEnglishwell,astudentmustmastertheessentialstolearnEnglishandformagoodhabittolearnEnglishwell.What’simportant,learningcapacitydoesnotonlyinvolvelearningmethodsandstrategies,butalsothecognitionandattitudestolearnEnglish.Therefore,asEnglishteachers,theyshouldknowexactlywhattheyneedtodonextandreflectthemselvesfrequently.4ConclusionAllinall,peoplewillbenefitalotfromlearningmoreaboutcorecompetencies.However,itisstillfullofchancesandchallengesforteachersandresearcherstouseandstudyit.Asforresearchers,theyshouldmakeagreateffortstostudymoretoenrichthecontentsofcorecompetencies.Asteachers,theyshoulduseittoguidetheirteachingpracticeandaddmoreideasoftheirowntocorecompetencies.龙源期刊网[1]程晓堂,赵思奇.英语学科核心素养的实质内涵[J].课程·教材·教法,2016(5):82-85.[2]中华人民共和国教育部.教育部关于全面深化课程改革落实立德树人根本任务的意见[Z].http://,2014.[3]冀小婷.英语核心素养培养的实现途径[J].天津师范大学学报(基础教育版),2016(3):48-51.作者简介马芳霞(1993—),女,汉族,甘肃静宁人,在读硕士,甘肃省西北师范大学,学科教学(英语)。
