WhatmakesatrueheroHeroisgenerallythoughttobeabigword.Usuallypeoplewouldthinkofheroesaspeoplewhofightcrimeinmoviesorcomicbooks,butthosepeoplerarelyexistintherealworld.Iholdtheopinionthateverybodycanbeahero,atleastaheroofhimself.Thenwhatistheessentialelementstomakeahero?Inthefirstplace,aheroshouldhaveabravehearttoconqueranyfrustrationshemayencounter.Itisnotabouthowmuchdifficultiesandhowhardthetasksare.Itmeansheshouldalwaysbelieveinhisownbliefandbelieveinhimselfthatsomedayhewillsurelyovercomeallthebadthingsinhislife.Itmeanspersistance.Secondly,aheroshouldbewillingtohelpothers,anddeterminedtochangetheworldintoabetterplace.Heshouldbethoughtfultothepeoplearound.Andwhendisadvantagedgroupsaretreatedunfair,hewillhaveenoughcouragetospeakforthem.Inotherwords,aheroshouldcareforthesociety.Lastbutnottheleast,herowouldnotbeafraidtosacrificehisowninterests.Whenhefallsintoadilemma,hewouldpreferentiallyconcernaboutbenefitsofthemajority.AsfarasIamconcerned,aheroisalsosomeoneyoucanlookupto,knowinghe/shewillalwayscatchyouwhenyoufall.Aheroisaneverydaypersonthatcanchangetheworld.Inourworld,anybodycanbeaherolikepoliceofficers,firefighters,doctors,orpeopleyouwalkbyonthestreets.Aheroisnotsomeonethathurtsanotherpersonordoesbadthings,buttheyhelppeople.Aherodoesn¡¯talwaysfightcrimeoralwayshaveanopposition.Theydon¡¯tevenhavetoworkwithpeople;theycouldbedesigningaproductthathelpsmanypeople.Anexampleofaherothatdoesn¡¯thaveanoppositionwouldbehelpingsomeoneelse.Someonecouldbestrugglingwiththeirschoolwork.Anotherpersoncannoticethatandhelpthemunderstandthework.Thatpersoncouldbecalledaherobecauseanotherpersonishavinganeasiertimewiththeirwork.Anexampleofaherothatdoesn¡¯tnecessarilyworkwithpeoplecouldbepeoplewhoinventthings.Thepersonthatinventedthewheelchairisaherobecausehehashelpedmillionsofpeopleintheworld.Withoutthewheelchairpeoplewhocannotwalkwouldnotbeabletomovearoundaseasily.Thispersonisaherotopeopleallaroundtheworld.Aheroisaneverydaypersonwhocanchangetheworldforthebetter.Itcouldbesimplelikehelpingonepersonoutorbyhelpingmillions.Aheroisalsosomeoneyoucanlookupto,knowinghe/shewillalwayscatchyouwhenyoufall.Whatmakesahero'sstoryAhero'sadventurecanbetoldinnineacts.Itcanalsobetoldinfewer.Italsohasthefollowingelements(moreorless)regardlessofhowmanyactsithas.Aherohasacalltoadventurewithaguardianorperilatthebeginningthattheymustovercomeorpersuadetoenterintotheadventure.Aheromeetsaguideorgainsacompanionwhoiswiththemthroughtheadventure.Theherofacesthreetrialsandareversal.Theherothenfacesthegreatenemy.Theheromustfindawaytoovercometheenemy.Theherosurvives(ordoesn'tsurvive)theaftermathofdefeatingtheenemy.Theheroreturnshomebringingwithhimorherakeyoragiftforthoseleftbehind.Therearemanytypesofheroes.classicheroreluctantheroesgroupheroeslonerheroesanti-heroestragicheroestricksterssacrificialheroes.Butwhatmakesaheroaheroisthattheyacceptthecalltoadventureandovercomeperilsinamannerthatrequirescourageandsacrifice--andinawaythatbenefitsthecommunityinsomeway.(Thisisreallysimplified,butitistheheartofwhatmakesahero)
