MyTriptoAmerica|我的美国之旅Wespentall9daysoftheexchangeprograminPittsburgh3.Myexchangepartner’snamewasJackieShaffer.Herdadisaradiologist2andhermomisahomemaker.IspentmostofthetimewithJackieandhermomlivingintheirPittsburghapartmentforseveraldays.Wedidn’tgettoseeherdadalotbecausehewasbusywithhiswork.TheapartmentwastypicallyAmerican,notsobigbutniceandcozy4.Ontheweekend,IwastakentotheircountrysidehouseinNewWilmington5.Thecountrysidewassodifferentfromthecity,theskylookedcleaner,andscenerywassobeautiful.Iloveditthereverymuch.Duringweekdays,weattendedclasseswithourexchangepartnersandalsogottoseealotofPittsburgh.WeexperiencedthetypicalAmericanteenagers’life,andthoughtitwassomuchfun.Ithoughtthemostinterestingpartoftheexchangewastalkingaboutdifferencesbetweenourschoolandtheirschool.Amongthedifferencesweredressingrules(theyareallowedtowearmakeupbuthavetowearuniformswithcollarsbutforbiddentowearjeans,andtheyenvieduswhentheysawuswearingjeans),relationshipsbetweenteachers(theytalkwithteachersinsideandoutsideofclassaboutallmannerof6things)andtheschoollife(studentshavemuchfreedomthere,theatmosphereoftheirclassesismorevivid,buttheknowledgetheylearnissimpler.Inclass,thereisnostrictdiscipline,youwon’tlearnalotinclassbuthavetomakeagreateffortafterclass).ThecityofPittsburghisfamousforsteelproduction.Itwasquietandgreeneverywhere,whichmadeusfeelcomfortable.Butthereweren’tsomanypeopleonthestreetswhetheritwasdaytimeornight,thereweremuchfewercarsonthestreets.Ontheweekend,somestudentswenttoseethemagnificent7NiagaraFalls8andlocalshoppingmalls,whileotherstudentsweretakentoseebeautifulsceneryandfarmanimalsinthecountryside.AttheendofourstayinPittsburgh,wehadasmallbutfriendlypartyatagirl’shouse.Allthestudentsandtheirhostfamiliesattendedtheparty.Thehostwasverythoughtful9andaskedaChinesechef,whowasborninWuhan,tomakedeliciousfoodforus.Asaconclusiontotheparty,alltheChinesestudentssang“TheMoonPresentsOurLove”toexpressourgratitude10tothem.Allthehostfamiliesweresoniceanddidtheirbesttomakeusenjoythestayandfeelathome.TheexchangeinPittsburghcametoanendquickly.WewereallveryhappytogoseeingsomeothercitiesinAmericabutalsoverysadtoleaveourAmericanfamilies.OursecondstopwasWashingtonD.C.TherewegottoseealotofhistoricalplacesandlearntmoreaboutAmericanhistory.SeeingsuchplacesastheWhiteHouseandLincolnMemorialwasreallycool.Wespentmostofourtimeinthecoach11forthenexttwodays.OnthewaytoBoston,westoppedatPhiladelphia12visitingtheLibertyBell13.Wealsosawsomecoolcarriages.TheweatherinBostonwasbad,rainyandwindy.Wewenttoseetwoofthemostfamousuniversities,HarvardandMIT.Theylookedalittlebitdifferentfromwhatwethoughtbutweallenjoyedthecampustoursalot.OnourwaytoNewYork,wevisitedYaleUniversity.ItwasthemostbeautifuluniversityIhaveevervisited.Thebuildingstherewereveryold,andtheatmospherehadanancientfeeling.WewenttoseetheStatueofLiberty14,itwaslikebeinginafantasywhenwearrivedattheisland,anditfeltunreal.Broadway15,WallStreet16,theUnitedNationsandTimeSquare17werealsonice.InNewYorkyoualwaysfindyourselfsurroundedbytallbuildings.Allofusdidn’tlikethecrowds.Yousawpeopleeverywhereanditfeltbusy,chaotic18.OurgroupflewtoLosAngelesthefollowingmorning.Itwassodifferentfromwhatweexpected.Itwasnotaboutfashionatall,andlookedlikethecountryside.ThehighlightswereDisneyLandandUniversalStudios19.Weallenjoyedourselvesalotwhileexploringthesetwoplaces.InDisney,itwaslikebeingachildagainseeingfamiliarcharactersfromcartoons.InUniversalStudios,wehadadventures,experiencingthingswelearntinourtextbook.Onthelastday,wewenttothebeach.Thebeachwassobigthatthesandlookedlikedesert.WegottofeeltherealsunshineofCaliforniaandsawthebigblueocean.WeonlyhadacoupleofhourstotourthecityofSanFrancisco.OurlastdinnerinAmericawashotpot20!Weweresurprisedatfirst,butconsidereditthebestmealwehadhadontheentiretrip.Timepassedawayquicklyduringthetwenty-one-daytrip.Allofusdidn’twanttoleavebutwehadnochoice.NearlyallofusthinkthatPittsburghisthebestcityinAmerica,becausewehadsuchawonderfultimethere.Thetripwasshortbutwedidimmerse21ourselvesintoAmericancultureandgottoexperiencenewthings.Allinall,thetwenty-onedaysthatwespenttogetherinAmericawillbeanunforgettablememoryofourlives.EachofushadtimeswhenourEnglishskillsandadaptability22weretested.=========================
