BilibiliInc.AnnouncesThirdQuarter2019FinancialResultsSHANGHAI,November18,2019--BilibiliInc.(“Bilibili”orthe“Company”)(NASDAQ:BILI),aleadingonlineentertainmentplatformforyounggenerationsinChina,todayannounceditsunauditedfinancialresultsforthethirdquarterendedSeptember30,2019.ThirdQuarter2019Highlights:•TotalnetrevenuesreachedRMB1,859.0million(US$260.1million),a72%increasefromthesameperiodin2018.•Averagemonthlyactiveusers(MAUs1)reached127.9million,mobileMAUsreached114.2million,representingincreasesof38%and43%fromthesameperiodin2018,respectively.•Averagedailyactiveusers(DAUs)reached37.6million,a40%increasefromthesameperiodin2018.•RevenueperMAUwasRMB14.5,a25%increasefromthesameperiodin2018.Non-gamerevenueperMAUwasRMB7.2,a100%increasefromthesameperiodin2018.•Averagemonthlypayingusers(MPUs2)reached7.9million,a124%increasefromthesameperiodin2018.Averagemonthlypayingusersformobilegamesincreasedtoapproximately1.5million,comparedto0.9millionforthesameperiodin2018.“Weareexcitedtoannounceanothergreatquarterwithexceptionalgrowthtobothusernumbersandtopline,”saidMr.RuiChen,ChairmanoftheBoardandChiefExecutiveOfficerofBilibili.“Ourgrowinglibraryofcontentandefficientusergrowthstrategycontinuetopayoff.Weattractedconsiderablenewtrafficinthethirdquarter,adding17.5millionMAUssequentially,thehighestnumberofnet-additionsinourcorporatehistory.OuraverageDAUsalsoreachedanewhighof37.6million,increasingby40%year-on-yearinthethirdquarter.Theseexceptionallevelsofdailyuseractivitydemonstratethehighengagementofourcommunityandqualityofourgrowth.Wealsoimprovedmonetizationacrossournon-gamebusinesslines,withrevenuesfromouradvertisingbusiness,andlivebroadcastingandVASbusinessgrowing80%and167%year-on-year,respectively.Fueledbystrongusergrowth,exceptionalcontentandimprovedmonetizationcapabilities,wewillcontinuetoincreaseourtoplineandenhancethevaluewebringtoallofourconstituents.”Mr.SamFan,ChiefFinancialOfficerofBilibili,said,“Wearepleasedtoexceedthehighendofourguidanceby5%,growingourtotalrevenuesby72%year-on-yeartoRMB1.86billion.Wenowhaveevenmorediverserevenuestreams,withrevenuesfromournon-gamebusinessincreasingby176%,andrepresenting50%ofourtotalnetrevenues.Asourtoplineexpands,wearedelightedtoseeourgrossmarginalsoimprovefrom16.4%to18.9%sequentially,showingourgrowingleverage.Alongwithhighqualityusergrowthandincreasedmonetizationlevels,thenumberofaverageMPUsonourplatformgrewto7.9million,anincreaseof124%fromthesameperiodlastyear.Lookingahead,wewillcontinuetoconvertourgrowingtraffictopayingusers,furtherimproveourgrossmarginandcontinuetoworktoachievesustainablegrowth.”ThirdQuarter2019FinancialResultsTotalnetrevenues.TotalnetrevenueswereRMB1,859.0million(US$260.1million),representinganincreaseof72%fromthesameperiodof2018.Mobilegames.RevenuesfrommobilegameswereRMB933.1million(US$130.6million),representinganincreaseof25%fromthesameperiodof2018.Theincreasewasprimarilyduetotheincreasingpopularityofbothexistingandnewlylaunchedmobilegames.LivebroadcastingandValue-addedservices(VAS).RevenuesfromlivebroadcastingandVASwereRMB452.5million(US$63.3million),representinganincreaseof167%fromthesameperiodof2018,mainlyattributabletotheCompany’senhancedmonetizationefforts,ledbyincreasesinthenumberofpayingusersforlivebroadcastingservices,theCompany’spremiummembershipprogramandotherVAS.Advertising.RevenuesfromadvertisingwereRMB247.2million(US$34.6million),representinganincreaseof80%fromthesameperiodof2018.Thisincreasewasprimarilyattributabletotheramp-upofbrandadvertisingandperformance-basedadvertising,drivenbyfurtherrecognitionofBilibili’sbrandnameinChina’sonlineadvertisingmarket.E-commerceandothers.Revenuesfrome-commerceandotherswereRMB226.1million(US$31.6million),representinganincreaseof703%fromthesameperiodof2018,primarilyattributabletotheincreaseinsalesofproductsthroughtheCompany’se-commerceplatform.Costofrevenues.CostofrevenueswasRMB1,507.7million(US$210.9million),representinganincreaseof71%comparedtothesameperiodof2018.Revenue-sharingcost,akeycomponentofcostofrevenues,wasRMB664.6million(US$93.0million),representinganincreaseof49%fromthesameperiodin2018.Grossprofit.GrossprofitwasRMB351.3million(US$49.1million),representinganincreaseof80%fromthesameperiodin2018.Totaloperatingexpenses.TotaloperatingexpenseswereRMB774.4million(US$108.3million),representinganincreaseof71%fromthesameperiodof2018.Salesandmarketingexpenses.SalesandmarketingexpenseswereRMB363.9million(US$50.9million),representingan85%increaseyear-over-year.TheincreasewasprimarilyattributabletotheincreasedchannelandmarketingexpensesassociatedwithBilibili’sappandbrandinthesummerholidays,aswellaspromotionalexpensesfortheCompany’smobilegames,increaseinheadcountinsalesandmarketingpersonnel,andanincreaseinfulfillmentcostsassociatedwithBilibili’se-commercestream.Generalandadministrativeexpenses.GeneralandadministrativeexpenseswereRMB163.2million(US$22.8million),representinga48%increaseyear-over-year.Theincreasewasprimarilyduetoincreasedpersonnel-relatedexpenses,increasedamortizationexpenserelatedtointangibleassetsac
