奥巴马国情咨文全文,奥巴马国情咨文全文英文版,奥巴马总统2010年国情咨文全文英文版。Presidentaddressesnationonhealthcare,soaringdeficit,jobsupdated9:25p.m.ETJan.27,2010FulltextofPresidentBarackObama'sStateoftheUnionspeech,asreleasedbyWhiteHouse:(PartI)MadameSpeaker,VicePresidentBiden,MembersofCongress,distinguishedguests,andfellowAmericans:OurConstitutiondeclaresthatfromtimetotime,thePresidentshallgivetoCongressinformationaboutthestateofourunion.Fortwohundredandtwentyyears,ourleadershavefulfilledthisduty.Theyhavedonesoduringperiodsofprosperityandtranquility.Andtheyhavedonesointhemidstofwaranddepression;atmomentsofgreatstrifeandgreatstruggle.It'stemptingtolookbackonthesemomentsandassumethatourprogresswasinevitable-thatAmericawasalwaysdestinedtosucceed.ButwhentheUnionwasturnedbackatBullRunandtheAlliesfirstlandedatOmahaBeach,victorywasverymuchindoubt.WhenthemarketcrashedonBlackTuesdayandcivilrightsmarcherswerebeatenonBloodySunday,thefuturewasanythingbutcertain.Theseweretimesthattestedthecourageofourconvictions,andthestrengthofourunion.Anddespiteallourdivisionsanddisagreements;ourhesitationsandourfears;Americaprevailedbecausewechosetomoveforwardasonenation,andonepeople.Again,wearetested.Andagain,wemustanswerhistory'scall.Oneyearago,Itookofficeamidtwowars,aneconomyrockedbysevererecession,afinancialsystemonthevergeofcollapse,andagovernmentdeeplyindebt.Expertsfromacrossthepoliticalspectrumwarnedthatifwedidnotact,wemightfaceaseconddepression.Soweacted-immediatelyandaggressively.Andoneyearlater,theworstofthestormhaspassed.Butthedevastationremains.OneintenAmericansstillcannotfindwork.Manybusinesseshaveshuttered.Homevalueshavedeclined.Smalltownsandruralcommunitieshavebeenhitespeciallyhard.Forthosewhohadalreadyknownpoverty,lifehasbecomethatmuchharder.ThisrecessionhasalsocompoundedtheburdensthatAmerica'sfamilieshavebeendealingwithfordecades-theburdenofworkingharderandlongerforless;ofbeingunabletosaveenoughtoretireorhelpkidswithcollege.SoIknowtheanxietiesthatareoutthererightnow.They'renotnew.ThesestrugglesarethereasonIranforPresident.ThesestrugglesarewhatI'vewitnessedforyearsinplaceslikeElkhart,IndianaandGalesburg,Illinois.IhearabouttheminthelettersthatIreadeachnight.Thetoughesttoreadarethosewrittenbychildren-askingwhytheyhavetomovefromtheirhome,orwhentheirmomordadwillbeabletogobacktowork.FortheseAmericansandsomanyothers,changehasnotcomefastenough.Somearefrustrated;someareangry.Theydon'tunderstandwhyitseemslikebadbehavioronWallStreetisrewardedbuthardworkonMainStreetisn't;orwhyWashingtonhasbeenunableorunwillingtosolveanyofourproblems.Theyaretiredofthepartisanshipandtheshoutingandthepettiness.Theyknowwecan'taffordit.Notnow.Sowefacebiganddifficultchallenges.AndwhattheAmericanpeoplehope-whattheydeserve-isforallofus,DemocratsandRepublicans,toworkthroughourdifferences;toovercomethenumbingweightofourpolitics.Forwhilethepeoplewhosentusherehavedifferentbackgrounds,differentstoriesanddifferentbeliefs,theanxietiestheyfacearethesame.Theaspirationstheyholdareshared.Ajobthatpaysthebills.Achancetogetahead.Mostofall,theabilitytogivetheirchildrenabetterlife.Youknowwhatelsetheyshare?Theyshareastubbornresilienceinthefaceofadversity.Afteroneofthemostdifficultyearsinourhistory,theyremainbusybuildingcarsandteachingkids;startingbusinessesandgoingbacktoschool.They'recoachinglittleleagueandhelpingtheirneighbors.Asonewomanwroteme,Wearestrainedbuthopeful,strugglingbutencouraged.Itisbecauseofthisspirit—thisgreatdecencyandgreatstrength—thatIhaveneverbeenmorehopefulaboutAmerica'sfuturethanIamtonight.Despiteourhardships,ourunionisstrong.Wedonotgiveup.Wedonotquit.Wedonotallowfearordivisiontobreakourspirit.Inthisnewdecade,it'stimetheAmericanpeoplegetagovernmentthatmatchestheirdecency;thatembodiestheirstrength.Andtonight,I'dliketotalkabouthowtogether,wecandeliveronthatpromise.Itbeginswithoureconomy.Ourmosturgenttaskupontakingofficewastoshoreupthesamebanksthathelpedcausethiscrisis.Itwasnoteasytodo.Andifthere'sonethingthathasunifiedDemocratsandRepublicans,it'sthatweallhatedthebankbailout.Ihatedit.Youhatedit.Itwasaboutaspopularasarootcanal.ButwhenIranforPresident,IpromisedIwouldn'tjustdowhatwaspopular—Iwoulddowhatwasnecessary.Andifwehadallowedthemeltdownofthefinancialsystem,unemploymentmightbedoublewhatitistoday.Morebusinesseswouldcertainlyhaveclosed.Morehomeswouldhavesurelybeenlost.SoIsupportedthelastadministration'seffortstocreatethefinancialrescueprogram.Andwhenwetooktheprogramover,wemadeitmoretransparentandaccountable.Asaresult,themarketsarenowstabilized,andwehaverecoveredmostofthemoneywespentonthebanks.Torecovertherest,Ihaveproposedafeeonthebiggestbanks.IknowWallStreetisn'tkeenonthisidea,butifthesefirmscanaffordtohandoutbigbonusesagain,theycanaffordamodestfeetopaybackthetaxpayerswhorescuedthemintheirtimeofneed.TaxcutsAswestabilizedthefinancialsystem,wealsotookstepstogetoureconomygrowingagain,saveasmanyjobsaspossible,andhelpAmericanswhohadbecomeunemployed.That'swhyweextendedorincreasedunemploymentbenefitsformorethan18millionAmericans;madehealthinsurance65%cheaperforfamilieswhogettheircoveraget
