I.J.EducationandManagementEngineering2012,2,42-46PublishedOnlineFebruary2012inMECS()DOI:10.5815/ijeme.2012.02.07Availableonlineat’ComprehensiveAbilityWangFangxiuDepartmentofMathematicsandPhysics,WuhanPolytechnicUniversity,Wuhan,ChinaAbstractTheCoursedesignforalgorithmanalysisisacompulsorycourseofpracticalteaching.Fromthetheoreticalstudy,experimentaldesign,standardofevaluationandcultivationofinnovation,itsummarizestheeffectthatalgorithmanalysishasonimprovingstudents'Comprehensiveability.IndexTerms:Algorithmanalysis;Coursedesign;Theteachingquality;Comprehensiveability©2012PublishedbyMECSPublisher.Selectionand/orpeerreviewunderresponsibilityoftheInternationalConferenceonE-BusinessSystemandEducationTechnology1.IntroductionAttheendofspringsemesterinthethirdyear,studentsintheinformationandcomputationmajortakethecoursedesignforalgorithmanalysisduring1.5weeks.1.1PurposeforcoursedesignCoursedesignforalgorithmanalysisisanimportantpracticalteachingstepoftheinformationandcomputationmajoranditisacomprehensivecoursedesignwhenthealgorithmanalysiscourseformathematicalsciencesisfinished.Throughthecoursedesign,studentswillimporvetheabilitytosoftwaredevelopmentbysyntheticallyusingwhattheyhavelearnt.Ontheotherhand,itcanhelpstudentsconsolidateandexpandprofessionalknowledge,preparingforthegraduationdesign,layingasolidfoundationforfuthurstudy,scientificresearchandprojectdevelopment.ThroughpracticalstepofCoursedesignforalgorithmanalysis,studentscanusethebasictheoryandpracticalknowledgeofcomputerlanguage,datastructure,softwareengineeringandalgorithmanalysistocorrectlysolvedtheefficiencyandrationalityofthesoftware,andfinishingtheprojectreasonably,improvingtheabilitytothesoftwaredesignandlearningtousetherelatedreferences.*Correspondingauthor.E-mailaddress:awfx323@126.comTheCourseDesignforAlgorithmAnalysisandResearchonImprovingtheStudents’ComprehensiveAbility431.2Featuresofcoursedesign1)Coveringawiderangeofknowledge.Thedesignprocessinvolvinginmanycourses,includingknowledgeofcomputerprogramming,datastructure,softwareengineering,databasemanagement.Coursedesignforalgorithmanalysisisatrainingprocessofreasonableuseofcomprehensiveknowledge,soitisimportanttomastersomebasiccourseswellifyouwanttocompletethecoursedesignsuccessfully.2)Agoodpracticalcoursedesign.ThecontentofCoursedesignincludestheprojectdevelopmentandcomplexalgorithmanalysis.Fromthecultivationofstudents'applicationability,basedonthedevelopmentofsoftware,thecoursedesignfocusesoncultivationofstudents'applicationabilitytoalgorithmanalysisandengineeringqualityeducation.Itplaysanimportantroleintrainingthestudents’abilitytoanalyzeandsolvethequestion,innovationabilityandpracticeability[1].3)Flexibilityofknowledge.Theapplicationofthealgorithmanalysisisofgreatflexibilityindifferentconditions.Eveninthesameconditions,itmayhavedifferentmethodstodealwith.Itneedsobjectiveanalysisaccordingtothespecificsituation.Adesignprojectmayhaveavarietyofdesignscheme,weneedtoselectthebestschemebycomparingandanalyzingtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofeachscheme.4)Closerelationwithsoftwarecompany.Designiscloselyrelatedtothepracticalenvironmentofthedevelopmentofasoftwarecompany.Manydesignsubjectsarecomeupwithbythesoftwarecompanydirectly.Learningeffectsdirectlyaffectthecoursedesign.Therefore,thecoursedesignshouldbebeyondthebookknowledge.Moreimportant,itshouldbelinkedwiththeactualproduction.5)Needingmoredesigninformationwhichisdifficulttofind.Whenwetakethecoursedesign,weneedtolookuptherelevantmaterials,designmethodsandguidebooksaboutthetheoryofalgorithmsanddatastructure.Studentsknowlittleaboutitbeforetakingthiscoursedesign.2.Problemsanddefectswhichthecoursedesignforalgorithmanalysisexist2.1UnclearpurposeofdesignandinsufficientunderstandingoftheimportancetothecoursedesignMoststudentspaynoenoughattentiontotheimportanceandpurposeofthecoursedesign.Somestudentsdon'trealizethatit’sagoodchancetoapplythetheorytothepractice.Duringthecoursedesign,moststudentscannotcombinewhattheylearnedwiththedesigncontentsorganicly.Itishardforthemtoactivelythinkaboutandanalyzetheproblem.Influencedbythetraditionalteachingideas,theytreatthecoursedesignasausualoneandjustcompletethedesignaccordingtothedesigningstepsofinstructionandrelatedmaterialwithoutautonomy.Asaresult,thedesigningeffectisnotidealanditisnotgoodforcultivatingstudents'practicalabilities.2.2BeweakinusingtheoreticalknowledgeandinformationStudentsarenotgoodatfindingmainproblemsandgraspingtheprincipalcontradictioninthedesigntopicandtasks.Atthebeginningofthecoursedesign,thestudentsdon’tknowhowtostartandwaittorelyonteachers’guiding.Asaresult,thegoalisnotclear.TheStudentsdon’tknowhowtolookupthereferencetofindthethoughtandthemethodforthedesign.Asaresult,theyarenotclearaboutthedesigncontentandgoal,leadingtoadisorganizeddesignideaandcreativityunreflected.44TheCourseDesignforAlgorithmAnalysisandResearchonImprovingtheStudents’ComprehensiveAbility2.3Poorabilitytoexpres
