TonyRobbins:Whywedowhatwedo英语演讲稿：(Applause)Thankyou.IhavetotellyouI'mbothchallengedandexcited.Myexcitementis:Igetachancetogivesomethingback.Mychallengeis:theshortestseminarIusuallydois50hours.(Laughter)I'mnotexaggerating.Idoweekends,andwhatIdo--Idoevenmorethanthat,obviously,coachpeople--butI'mintoimmersion.Becausehowdidyoulearnlanguage?Youdidn'tlearnitbyjustlearningprinciples,yougotinitandyoudiditsooftenthatitbecamereal.AndthebottomlineofwhyI'mhere,besidesbeingacrazymofo,isthatI'mreallyinaposition--I'mnotheretomotivateyou,obviously;youdon'tneedthat.Andalotoftimesthat'swhatpeoplethinkIdo,andit'sthefurthestthingfromit.Whathappens,though,ispeoplesaytome,Idon'tneedanymotivation.AndIsay,Well,that'sinteresting.That'snotwhatIdo.I'mtheWhyguy.Iwanttoknowwhyyoudowhatyoudo.Whatisyourmotiveforaction?Whatisitthatdrivesyouinyourlifetoday?Not10yearsago.Orareyourunningthesamepattern?BecauseIbelievethattheinvisibleforceofinternaldrive,activated,isthemostimportantthingintheworld.I'mherebecauseIbelieveemotionistheforceoflife.Allofusherehavegreatminds.Youknow?Mostofusherehavegreatminds,right?Idon'tknowaboutanothercategory,butweallknowhowtothink.Andwithourmindswecanrationalizeanything.Wecanmakeanythinghappen.Wecan--Iagreewithwhatwasdescribedafewdaysago,aboutthisideathatpeopleworkintheirself-interest.Butweallknowthatthat'sbullshitattimes.Youdon'tworkinyourself-interestallthetime,becausewhenemotioncomesintoit,thewiringchangesinthewayitfunctions.Andsoit'swonderfulforustothinkintellectuallyabouthowthelifeoftheworldis,andespeciallythosewhoareverysmart--wecanplaythisgameinourhead.ButIreallywanttoknowwhat'sdrivingyou.AndwhatIwouldliketomaybeinviteyoutodobytheendofthistalkisexplorewhereyouaretoday,fortworeasons.One:sothatyoucancontributemore.Andtwo:sothathopefullywecannotjustunderstandotherpeoplemore,butmaybeappreciatethemmore,andcreatethekindsofconnectionsthatcanstopsomeofthechallengesthatwefaceinoursocietytoday.They'reonlygoingtogetmagnifiedbytheverytechnologythat'sconnectingus,becauseit'smakingusintersect.Andthatintersectiondoesn'talwayscreatetheviewofeverybodynowunderstandseverybody,andeverybodyappreciateseverybody.So,I'vehadanobsessionbasicallyfor30years,andthatobsessionhasbeen,Whatmakesthedifferenceinthequalityofpeopleslives?Whatmakesthedifferenceintheirperformance?Becausethat'swhatIgothiredtodo.I'vegottoproducetheresultnow.That'swhatI'vedonefor30years.Igetthephonecallwhentheathleteisburningdownonnationaltelevision,andtheywereaheadbyfivestrokesandnowtheycan'tgetbackonthecourse.AndI'vegottodosomethingrightnowtogettheresultornothingmatters.Igetthephonecallwhenthechildisgoingcommitsuicide,andI'vegottodosomethingrightnow.Andin29years--I'mverygratefultotellyouI'veneverlostonein29years.Itdoesn'tmeanIwon'tsomeday.ButIhaven'tdoneit,andthereasonisanunderstandingofthesehumanneedsthatIwanttotalktoyouabout.So,whenIgetthosecallsaboutperformance,that'sonething.Howdoyoumakeachange?Butalso,I'mlookingtoseewhatisitthat'sshapingthatperson'sabilitytocontribute,todosomethingbeyondthemselves.Somaybetherealquestionis,youknow,Ilookatlifeandsay,there'stwomasterlessons.Oneis:there'sthescienceofachievement,whichalmosteverythingthat'srunismasteredtoanamazingextent.That'sHowdoyoutaketheinvisibleandmakeitvisible,right?Howdoyoutakewhatyou'redreamingofandmakeithappen?Whetheritbeyourbusiness,yourcontributiontosociety,money--whateveritisforyou--yourbody,yourfamily.Buttheotherlessonoflifethatisrarelymasteredistheartoffulfillment.Becausescienceiseasy,right?Weknowtherules.Youwritethecode.Youfollowthe--andyougettheresults.Onceyouknowthegameyoujust,youknow,youuptheante,don'tyou?Butwhenitcomestofulfillment--that'sanart.Andthereasonis,it'saboutappreciationandit'saboutcontribution.Youcanonlyfeelsomuchbyyourself.So,I'vehadaninterestinglaboratorytotrytoanswerthequestionoftherealquestion,whichiswhat'sthedifferenceinsomebody'slifeifyoulookatsomebodylikethosepeoplethatyou'vegiveneverythingto?Likealltheresourcestheysaytheyneed.Yougavethemnota100-dollarcomputer;yougavethemthebestcomputer.Yougavethemlove;yougavethemjoy.Youweretheretocomfortthem.Andthosepeopleveryoften--andyouknowsomeofthem,I'msure--enduptherestoftheirlifewithallthislove,education,moneyandbackground,spendingtheirlifegoinginandoutofrehab.Andthenyoumeetpeoplethathavebeenthroughultimatepain--psychologically,sexually,spiritually,emotionallyabused--andnotalways,butoften,theybecomesomeofthepeoplethatcontributethemosttosociety.So,thequestionwe'vegottoaskourselvesreallyis,whatisit?Whatisitthatshapesus?Andweliveinatherapyculture.Mostofusdon'tdothat,buttheculture'satherapyculture.AndwhatImeanbythatisthemindsetthatweareourpast.Andeverybodyinthisroom--youwouldn'tbeinthisroomifyouboughtthattheory--butthe--mostofsocietythinksbiographyisdestiny.Thepastequalsthefuture.Andofcourseitdoesifyoulivethere.Butwhatpeopleinthisroomknow,andwhatwehavetoremindourselves,though--becauseyoucanknowsomethingintellectually,youcanknowwhattodoandthennotuseit,notapplyit.Soreally,we'regoingtoremindourselvesthatdecisionistheultimatepower.That'swhatitr
