ProblemsinChina’sUrbanizationIn1851,Britainbecamethefirstcountrytoachieveurbanizationintheworld,andoverfiftypercentoftheBritishlivedincitiesatthattime.Fornow,indevelopedcountries,theurbanpopulationisabouteightypercentofthetotalpopulation.Inourcountry,in2013,thenumberisfiftypercentaccordingtoananalysisfromtheNationalBureauofStatisticsandit’sgrowingyearlyatarapidrate.AlthoughthismeanstheChina’seconomicdevelopmentandsocialprogress,whatweshouldpaymoreattentiontoisthatthenegativeeffectscausedbytherapid-developmenturbanizationespeciallywhenconsideringtheChina’snationalconditions.Themostseriousphenomenonisthewasteoflandresourcesduetolackingrationalplanning.Somepeoplemistakenlybelievethaturbanizationisrepairingmoreroadsandbuildingmoretallbuildings.Inmanyplaces,thegovernmentdepartmentsmakesomeprojectsblindly.Forexample,somesmalltownstrytobeinaccordancewithbigcities’standardsforlanduseplanningandconstructionandthisinevitablyleadstodeclineofagriculturallandarea.AccordingtoasurveyreportfromtheStateGridCorporationofChina,inourcountry,thereexistsoversixtyhundredmillionsetsofhousesthatnoonelivedinandthesehousesareavailablefortwohundredmillionpeople.Onlyfromthis,wecanseethatthewasteoflandresourcesisveryseriousintheprogressofurbanizationinourcountry.Withthedevelopmentofurbanization,wecanseethatthetownshipenterpriseshavedevelopedalot.Asaresult,theenvironmentalpollutionhasbecomemoreandmoreseriousandthebiologicaldiversityinruralareahasreducedalot.Theurbanizationprogressletmorepeoplegatherindowntown.Atthesametimemorepollutantswerereleased.Oncetheinfrastructureisimperfect,urbanenvironmentwouldbeworsen.Ontheotherhand,asaresultoflackingreasonableplanningandenvironmentalconscious,ruralforest、fishpondsandriversaredisappearing.Andthedecreaseofbiologicaldiversityisdirectlycausedbydestructionofbiologicalhabitat.What’smore,urbanizationcanalsoleadtosocialinstabilityifsomesocialcontradictionsleftunsolved.Ononehand,urbanizationprogresswillinevitablybreaktheexistingpatternofsocialinterests,anditmustbringmanynewcontradictions.Ontheotherhand,theurbanandruralgapbetweenrichandpoorcancausemanyproblemsandtherestillexistmanyunfairphenomenainoursociety.Asaresult,thecrimeratehaskeephighinmanyyearsandalotofdisharmoniousfactorsoccurfrequentlyinoursocietyrecently.Everycoinhastwosides,.andweshouldbeobjectivetotheurbanizationprogressinourcountry.Ononehand,theurbanizationcanpromotethedevelopmentofeconomicandsocialprogressandsoon.Ontheotherhand,weshouldrealizethattherestillexistsmanyproblemsintheurbanizationprogresswhenconsideringthesituationofourcountry.However,theurbanizationisinevitable.Whatweshoulddoisthatwecandosomethingtoavoidit’sbadeffects,suchasmakingmorereasonableplanningandstrengthenmanagementandsoon.WemustfindthewaywithChinesecharacteristicstoachieveurbanization.
