Itisthefirsttime…类结构用法■郭长经主编《学生英语答疑解难手册》(金盾出版社2004年3月第1版)p814：问：Itisthefirsttime+从句的结构中，从句应该用什么时态？答：Itisthefirsttime+从句的结构中，从句用现在完成时。Itwasthefirsttime+从句的结构中，从句用过去完成时。没有别的时态。例如：ItisthefirsttimethatMrSmothhasvisitedChina.这是史密斯先生第一次到中国来游览。ItwasthefirsttimethatMrSmothhasvisitedChina.译文同上。句型中主句it可以用this，that，序数词first也可根据句意改变其他序数词。例如：ThisisthethirdtimethatMrSmothhasvisitedtheSummerPalace.这是史密斯先生第三次游览颐和园。ThatwasthefourthtimethatMrSmothhasvisitedtheSummerPalace.这是史密斯先生第四次游览长城。■赵振才编著《初高中英语考点难点详解词典》(黑龙江人民出版社2002年10月第1版)p937：【问】—Doyouknowourtownatall?—No,itisthefirsttimeI____here.A.wasB.havebeenC.cameD.amcoming(全国高考，92—22)我选了C，对吗？【答】Thisisthefirst(second,third,…)time这个结构要求后面使用现在完成时，Thiswasthefirst(second,third,…)time这个结构要求后面使用过去完成时。例如：…当主句为将来时(It/This/Thatwillbethefirsttime)时，从句要用将来完成时，但用现在完成时来代替：…从以上可以看出两书均认为It/This/That+be+thefirst(second,third,…)time之中只能使用完成时态。然而最近出版的王福祯老师主编的《薄冰英语惯用法词典》(商务印书馆国际有限公司2009年1月北京第1版)p1179却认为：“Itis(或was)thefirst(second,third,fourth,etc.)time+(that)从句”句型中，从句常用现在完成时或过去完成时，也可以用一般过去时。如果表示动作正在进行，也可用进行时。例如：“Youknow”,hetoldtheguard,“that’sthefirsttimeIevertouchedarealflower.”实际上It/This/That+be+thefirst(second,third,…)time…之中除使用完成时态以外，还可以使用其他时态。这一点从著名语言学家MichaelSwan所著得PracticalEnglishUsage(ThirdEdition)中可以得到证实：PracticalEnglishUsage(ThirdEdition)p586:Present(simpleorprogressive)andfuturetensearebothpossiblewithThisisthelast…andsimilarstructures:ThisisthelasttimeIpay/I’mpayingforyou.(OrThisisthelasttimeI’llpayforyou.)
