PopulationControlProgressinscienceandtheimprovementoflivingconditionshaveledtotherapidgrowthoftheworldpopulation.Modernmedicine,forexample,hasmadeitpossibleforbabiestogrowuphealthilyandforpeopletolivelonger.Withimprovedlivingconditions,particularlyinthecountryside,peopletendtohavelargerfamilies.Asaresult,theworldpopulationhasincreasedsorapidlythatithasnowexceeded6billion.Buttheovergrowthofpopulationpresentsathreattotheexistenceofhumansociety.Alargepopulationdemandsagreatdealoffoodsupplyandshelterspace.However,limitedproductivityandscarceworldresourcescanhardlymeettheneedsoftheever-increasingpopulation.Thus,inthelongrun,theovergrowthoftheworldpopulationwillonlyharmmankind.Toguaranteethesteadydevelopmentofhumansociety,mankindmustrealizetheconsequencesresultingfromfastpopulationgrowthandcarryoutafamilyplanningprogramme.Onlybyadoptingeffectivemeasures,canhumansocietydevelopsteadilyandhaveabrightfuture.
