JAPANESEAUTOMOBILESTANDARDJAS0C406:2000Passengercar-Brakingdevice-Dynamometertestprocedures1.ScopeThisStandardspecifiesthetestproceduresforthedynamometerperformanceofnormallyoperatedservicebrakedevicesusedinpassengercars.includedinthisStandard.Testproceduresfortwo-wheeledvehiclesarenot2.ApplicablePublicationsThefollowingpublicationformsapartofthisStandardtotheextentspecifiedherein.ofallpublicationsshallapply.ThelatesteditionJISDO210GeneralRulesofBrakeTestMethodsforAutomobilesandMotorcycles3.DefinitionsDefinitionsofmajortermsusedhereinarespecifiedinItem2ofJISD0210,andincludesuchtermsasinitialbrakingspeed,brakinginterval,andinitialbraketemperature.4.TestConditions4.1VehicleClassificationTestvehiclesareclassifiedintothefollowingcategoriesbynominalmaximumspeedasspecifiedbelowinaccordancewiththeprovisionsofJISD0210.PI:Exceeding140km/hP2:Exceeding110km/hupto140km/hP3:Exceeding90km/hupto110km/hP4:90km/horless4.2ConditionofBrakePartsTheconditionofeachpartofbrakedevicesusedintestingshallconformtoItem4.3ofJISDO210(ConditionofBrakeParts).a)InertiaInertiashallbedeterminedbythecalculationequationspecifiedinItem7ofJISDO210(CalculationEquation).proceduresandtestequipmentsuchasdualorsingledynamometers.1)2)vehicleload(dualdynamometer)dividedbytheratioofthefrontandrearwheelbrakingforcesatabrakingdecelerationof4.5m/s2Testloads,however,shallbeasfollowstoaccommodatespecifictestFront-and-rearcombinationtestsusingadualdynamometer:1/2ofthetotalvehicleloadRight-leftcombinationtests:1/2ofthetotalvehicleload(singledynamometer)ortotal4.3TemperatureMeasurementAthermocoupleshallbeinstalledonthefixedsideasspecifiedinItem6(TemperatureMeasurement)ofJISD0210,asarule.Remarks:4.4.CoolingWindCoolingwindshallbeatroomtemperature,shallbeappliedatavelocityof11m/s,asarule,andshallbedirectedtoblowuniformlyandcontinuouslyagainsttheprojectedsurfaceofthebrakedevice.Remarks:4.5TemperatureAdjustmentWhenadjustmentsarerequiredtoachieveaspecifiedinitialbraketemperaturerefertoItem5.2.dBurnishconditions.Anydeviationfromtheaboveshallbenotedinthetestrecord.Anydeviationfromtheaboveshallbenotedinthetestrecord.1JAS0C406:20005.TestProcedures5.1PreparationThebrakedeviceshallbeinspectedtoconfirmthattherearenoabnormalitiesbeforebeinginstalledonthetestequipment.thefrictionmaterial.inordertoassureaccuratemeasurementofwearonthefrictionmaterial.10points,5pointsoneachside.ofthedrumordiscshallbeclean.orpad.drumordiscshallberecorded.Remarks:5.2TestItemsandSequenceTestitemsandsequenceofthetestarespecifiedbelowandinAttachedTable1.Thevehicleshallbebroughttoacompletestopwitheachbrakeapplication.Invehicleswherethespecifiedbrakingtemperaturecannotbereadilyachieved,theinitialbraketemperaturemaybeadjustedfrom80oCto60oC,orfrom1200Cto80oC,respectively.AnyforeignmatterincludinggreaseandpaintshallberemovedfromthesurfaceofSpecificmeasuringpointsonthepadandliningshallbedeterminedpriortotestingLiningsshallbemeasuredatThefrictionsurfaceAthermocoupleshallbeinstalledataspecifiedlocationontheliningPadsshallbemeasuredat6to8points,asarule.Thebrakedeviceshallbeinstalledandcenteredonthetestequipment.AnydeflectionoftheAnydeviationfromtheaboveshallbenotedinthetestrecord.a)Initialmeasurementb)PreburnishcheckLiningorpadthicknessandotherbrakepartdimensionsshallbemeasuredandrecordedasrequired.Initialbrakingspeed:50km/hBrakingdeceleration:3.0m/s2Initialbraketemperature:80oCmax.-front60oCmax.-rear10Repetitions:c)First(preburnish)effectivenesstestInitialbrakingspeed:50km/h&100km/h-PI&P2vehicles50km/h&80km/h-P3vehicles50km/h&65km/h-P4vehicles1.0m/s2to10.0m/s28OoC-front6OoC-rearRepeatuntilmeasurementsfor6ormorepointsareasequalaspossible,withintotaldecelerationrangeBrakingdeceleration:Initialbraketemperature:Repetitions:Remarks:1-Thelowervaluesforinitialbrakingspeedanddecelerationshallbeappliedfirst,asarule,priortoapplyingthehigherdeceleration.2-Constantbrakinginput/outputshallbemaintained.Anyoccurrenceofinconstantbrakingshallbenotedinthetestrecord.d)Burnish:Initialbrakingspeed:65km/hBrakingdeceleration:3.5km/s2Initialbraketemperature:Repetitions:12OOC-front100°C-rear200e)Secondeffectivenesstest1)LowTemperatureeffectivenesstestInitialbrakingspeed:50km/hBrakingdeceleration:Initialbraketemperature:Repetitions:1.0mP2to10.0m/s25OoCmax.-front/rearRepeatuntilmeasurementsfor4ormorepointsareasequalaspossible,withintotaldecelerationrange.2JAS0C406:20002)NormaltemperatureeffectivenesstestThefirsteffectivenesstestspecifiedinItem5.2~above,shallberepeated.brakingspeeds,however,shallbeasfollows.Initialbrakingspeed:Theinitial50km/h,100km/h&130km/h-PIvehicles50km/h,80km/h&100km/h-P2vehicles50km/h&80km/h-P3vehicles50km/h&65km/h-P4vehiclesi)FirstreburnishtestThefirsteffectivenesstestspecifiedinItem5.2dshallberepeated.Repetitionsshallbe35.ThefirsteffectivenesstestspecifiedinItem5.2~shallberepeated.Uponcompletionofthetest,theburnishtestspecifiedinItem5.2dshallberepeated.Repetitionsshallbe35.g)Lightloadeffectivenesstest(Optional):h)Emergencybraketest(Optional)Initialbrakingspeed:100km/h-PIvehicles100km/h-P2vehicles65km/h-P3vehicl
