Goodmorning,ladiesandgentlemen.Forthoseofyouwhodon'tknowme,myname's发发发.I’mheretodaytosharewithyousomethingaboutmydoctoraldissertationattheDepartmentofSociology,SoutheastUniversity.Thetitleofmytalkis‘WorkLifeBalanceandJobSatisfaction:HowRelevantAreThey?’.Iwillstartwithanintroductiontotherealsituationandliteraturereview,thenintroducesomework-relatedvariablessuchasworkplaceculture,socialsupportandmotivationandconceptualframeworkfortherelationshipbetweenworklifebalanceandjobsatisfaction,nextpresentthemostimportantresultsofinvestigations,andfinallyIhopetodrawafewconclusionsandIalsowanttoacknowledgeafewpeople.Ihopetoday’stopicisofparticularinteresttothoseofyouwhowanttohaveworklifebalanceorimproveemployee’sjobsatisfactionandincreaseproductivity.Lastly,Ifyouhaveanyquestions,I'llbehappytoanswerthemaswegoalong.Asweallknow,theglobaleconomyismorecomplexandinterlinked,whichdemandshigherefficiencyandproductivityfromtheemployees.Andthehighpressurecausedbytheeconomydevelopmentwillleadtoadecreaseinjobsatisfaction.Withthedecreaseofjobsatisfaction,theemployeeswillhaveworseperformanceatwork.Infact,accordingtothepreviousresearches,satisfactionwiththejobisapartoflifesatisfactionwhichdependsonthebalanceofworkandindividuallife.Whentheemployeesaresatisfiedwiththeirjob,theycanworklongerandmoreproductiveovertheirlifetime.However,manycompaniesandorganizationsdonotrealizethesignificantroleofworklifebalancetowardstheemployees'jobsatisfaction.Inaddition,manypreviousstudiesfocusedonthefactorssuchasflexibilityofwork,motivation,andsoon.Buttheydonotexaminetheroleofworklifebalanceonjobsatisfaction.Thus,myresearchwasconductedtoexamineandscrutinizeontherelationshipofworklifebalanceandjobsatisfactionandspecificallyexaminetherelationshipsamongemployeesinhealthcareorganizations.ThereasonthatIselecthealthcareorganizationsisthatthehospitalsareperceivedtobetheworkplacethatishighlystressful.Beforetalkingaboutmyresearch,Istillneedtoexplainthedefinitionsofwork-lifebalance,workplaceculture,jobsatisfactionandotherrelatedtermsthougheverybodyhassomeunderstanding.First,differentperspectivesofworklifebalanceareallaboutconcerninghowpeoplereacttowardstheirliveforthepurposesofbalancingbothworkandlife.Second,Workplaceculturesometimescalledorganizationalcultureaffectseverythingfromhowmuchyouremployeesliketheirjobstohowlikelytheyaretotimelycompletetasks.Inaddition,thoughjobsatisfactionalsohasadifferentperspectivebyeveryone,basicallyjobsatisfactionisassociatedwithsalary,occupationalstress,empowerment,companyandadministrativepolicy,achievement,personalgrowth,relationshipwithothers,andtheoverallworkingcondition.Lastbutnotleast,Itisfoundfromthestudythatworklifebalancehaspositiveinfluenceonjobsatisfaction.Inaddition,accordingtosomepreviousresearchesandsomerealsituationresearches,wecanfindworklifebalancewhichincludeworkplacecultures,socialsupportandmotivation,affectjobsatisfactions,whichisaconceptualframework.Sowehavesomehypotheses:HI:Workplacecultureispositivelyrelatedwithjobsatisfaction.H2:Socialsupportissignificantlyrelatedwithjobsatisfaction.H3:Motivationisrelatedwithjobsatisfaction.MypaperdatawascollectedfrommanagementstafffromfourhealthcareorganizationsinKlangValley,Malaysia.Atotalof205questionnairesweredistributedand205werereturned,whichcontributing100%totheresponserate.Thequestionnairesincludesfiveparts:thedemographicprofileoftherespondents,theworkplaceculture,thequestionsaboutsocialsupport,motivationandthequestionsrelatedtojobsatisfaction.Attheinvestigation,weusedCronbach'salphatomeasuretheinternalconsistencyofworkplaceculture,socialsupport,motivationandjobsatisfaction.Thedataindicatedthatthehighestlevelsofworklifebalanceamongjobsatisfactionwasmotivation.Themoderatelevelofworklifebalanceamongmanagementstaffsjobsatisfactionistheworkplaceculture.Socialsupporthaslowimpactonmanagementstaff’sjobsatisfaction.Theresultsofthestudyindicatesthatthereispositiverelationshipbetweenworkplacecultureandsocialsupporthavepositiveinfluencesonjobsatisfactionbuttheeffectisveryweak.Andthereisanegativerelationshipbetweenmotivationandjobsatisfaction.Eventhoughmostrespondentsclaimthattheyhavetoworklonghour,theystillmanagetobalancetheirworklife.Itcanbeconcludedthattheworkplaceculture,socialsupportandmotivationaffecttheworklifebalance.However,thisstudyissubjectedtovariouslimitations.Forexample,therewasasmallsampleandtheroleofattitude,spiritualbeliefandculturewasnotincluded.Generallyspeaking,Thisstudyindicatedtheimportantofbalancetherisesoftheresponsibilitiesoftheworkersandthedemandofstabilityinthefamily.SoletmesummarizewhatI'vesaid.Inconclusion,worklifebalancepositivelyaffectjobsatisfaction.Inworklifebalance,exceptformotivation,workplacecultureandsocialsupporthaveapositiverelationshipwithjobsatisfaction.Inthelightofwhatwehaveseentoday,Isuggestthatthecompanyororganizationsshouldgivedueconsiderationonachievingtheworklifebalanceofitsemployeestopromotejobsatisfaction.Onlywhenemployeesaresatisfiedwiththeirjob,theycanworklongerandmoreproductive.Now,Iwillclosemypresentation.Manythanksforyouratte
