2012InternationalConferenceonComputerScienceandInformationProcessing(CSIP)IntelligentGreenhouseMonitoringSystembasedonWirelessSensorNetworkCaoXinDepartmentofComputerScienceandTechnologyDalianNeusoftInstituteofInformationDalian,Chinacaoxin@neusoft.edu.cnYangTaoDepartmentofComputerScienceandTechnologyDalianNeusoftInstituteofInformationDalian,Chinayangtao@neusoft.edu.cnAbstract-Toavoidtheshortcomingsofinefficiencyofmanualcollection,complicatedwiringofcablenetworkmonitoringanddifficultmaintenance,thedesignofintelligentgreenhousemonitoringsystemfeaturingWSN(wirelesssensornetwork)wasdeveloped,whichcombinedsensorswithZigBeewirelessnetworktechnology.ThesystemrealizeswirelesscollectionandtransmissionofdataandinformationwithZigBeetechnology,whichtransmitsdataandcontrollinginformationtotheinternetthroughtheCGI(commongatewayinterface),enablingoperatorscheckdataandcontrolinareal-timemannerfromtheremotePC,andthenrealizingthetrueremotemonitoring.Keywords-zigbee;wirelessnetwork;sensor;greenhousecontrol;CGI1.INTRODUCTIONGreenhousecontroltechnologyisdevelopedconsequentlyasthegreenhousefarmingindustrydevelops.Traditionalmanualinspectionandcontrolmethodcostslargeamountoftimeandlabors,andtheintroductionofcomputerrepresentitsgradualmaturing;however,cablenetworktransmissionisoftheshortcomingsascomplicatedwiring,difficultmaintenanceandupgrade.Therefore,thebirthofwirelesssensornetworktechnologylaunchedanoverwhelmingrevolutioninthisfield.ThepaperprovidesadesignschemeofZigBeeWSNbasedintelligentgreenhousemonitoringsystem,conductingreal-timeintelligentmonitoringandcontroloversunshine,humidityandtemperatureandotherimportantfactorsinfluencingplantgrowth,aswellasinformingthefarmerswithmobilemessage.ThepaperfocusesontheZStack(ZigBeeStack)-basedapplicationprogramdevelopment,andrealizesremotemonitoring,processingandcontroloveralltheinformationingreenhouse.II.ZIGBEEWIRELESSNETWORKTECHNOLOGYZigBeeisanemergingshort-distanceandlow-ratewirelessnetworktechnology[1],andatechnological978-1-4673-1411-4/12/$31.00©2012IEEE144ZhangYong-QiangDepartmentofComputerScienceandTechnologyDalianNeusoftInstituteofInformationDalian,China,zhangyongqiang@neusoft.edu.cnsolutionbetweenwirelessmarkupandBluetooth.ZigBeeisbasedonIEEE802.15.4[2].SinceIEEEhasregulatedthephysicallayerandmediaaccesscontrollayerofZigBee,networklayer,applicationsupportsublayerandtop-layerofapplicationspecificationsweredevelopedbyZigBeeUnion.ZigBeeProtocolregulatesthreeusablefrequencybands:868MHZ,9l5MHZand2.4GHZ,providing1,10and16channelsrespectively,inwhich2.4GHZisagloballyuniversalfrequencyband,withtransmissionrateof250Kb/S[3]ZigBeetechnologycanefficientlyavoidcommunicationconflictsbecauseitadoptsCSMAlCA(CarrierSenseMultipleAccesswithCollisionAvoidance).ZigBeenetworksupportsthreetypesofmobileadhocnetworks:star,meshandtreestyles,whoseconnectionaddressesarel6-bitshortaddressand64-bitlongaddress,withonemainnodecanmanage254sub-nodesatthemaximum;meanwhile,themainnodecanbemanagedbyupper-layernetworknode,throughwhichabignetworkcontaining65,000nodescanbeformed,and100ZigBeenetworkscancoexistinthesinglearea.III.OVERALLDESIGNA.SystemstructureWiththetheoreticbaseofautomationtheory,thecloseloopcontrolsystemismadeofsensorsandexecutiveparts.Sensorsareequippedonthesensornodestosensethegrowthenvironmentofplants,andexecutivepartsareequippedonthecontrolnodestoimprovetheenvironment.Thesensornodesandcontrolnodesjointlycreateagreeablegrowingenvironmentforplants.Thesystemconsistsofwirelesssensornetwork,gatewaysandcontrolcenter.WirelesssensornetworkresemblesthenerveendoftheInternetofThings,responsibleforsensingthechangeintheenvironmentandtransmittingdatatointernetthroughgateways.ThesystemstructurediagramisshowninFig.1.2012InternationalConferenceonComputerScienceandInformationProcessing(CSIP)Figurel.SystemstructureB.GatewaySystemStructureGatewayisthedatacommunicatebridgebetweentheinternetandwirelesssensornetwork.Thesolutionprovidesthreekindsofgatewayaccessmethods:localaccess,mobileaccessandinternetaccess.Fig.2showsthegatewaysystemstructure.f\,I\,,,-,,-,��------���I\'-'-/Figure2.GatewaysystemstructureC.SensornetworkstructureZigBeenetworkincludesthreetypesoflogicequipments,i.e.coordinator,routerandterminalequipments,andoneZigBeenetworkhasonlyonecoordinator.Whenbeingactivated,thecoordinatorwillformitsownnetwork.Thesolutionadoptedstartnetwork,inwhichonlyonePANcoordinatorisusedtoensuretheuniquenessofthenetworkthroughchoosingaPANidentifier,withallroutersorterminalscanbeintegratedinthenetwork.SensornetworkstructureisshowninFig.3.Figure3.Sensornetworkstructure145IV.HARDWAREDESIGNThesystemhardwarecanbedividedintothreeparts:thecoreofwirelesssensornetworkisawirelessmodulebasedonCC2430developedbyII;gatewayisanimbeddedplatformbasedonARMmicro-processor;andcontrolcenterisPCcomputer.CC2430[4]isaZigBeeproductproducedbyChipconwhichtrulymeetstheIEEE802.15.4Standard.ThesolutioncanimproveperformanceandsatisfytherequirementsofapplicationofZigBee-based2.4GHzISMfrequencyband,lowcostandlowpowerconsumption.TheCC2430wirelesssingle-chipreceiv
