PersonalStatement“Whatanaughtygirl!YoumustalwayskeepwhatIamabouttosayinyourmind.Thisabacusissoimportanttomethatthelossofitequalstothelossofmyjobformakingaliving.”ThiswaswhatmygrandfathertoldmeseriouslyafterIbrokehisabacuswhenIwasachild.Hewasthefinancialdirectorinhiscompanysothatabacuswasthemostvitaltooltohimwhencalculatorswerenotwidelyused.Sincethen,accountinghasbeenasacredconceptinmymind,Ilearnedtheimportanceofaccountantinacompanyfrommanyreceiptsandsealsingrandfather’sdeskandthecentrallocationofhisofficeinhiscompany.IstartedtolearnprofessionalknowledgeaboutaccountingsystematicallywhenIentereduniversityandfocusedonthemajorofACCA.Apartfromdouble-entryaccountingandfinancialstatement,Ialsomasteredtheknowledgeoffinancialmanagement,corporategovernance,riskmanagementandprofessionalethics.AndIpassedthenationalexamofACCA,thisisallbecauseofmyownwaytostudy,Inevertooknotesbutponderedoverwhatteacherssaidinclassandtooknotesafterclassbasedonmymemoryasthereviewoftheknowledgethatteacherstaughtme.Innovationandcarefulnessarealsomygreatqualities.Inmythirdyearinuniversity,teacherrequiredustoresearchonthebriberycaseofSiemensingroupsandmakereportandpresentationafterresearch.WechosetheperspectiveofprofessionalethicsofmanagementratherthanconstructionstructureandriskmanagementlikeothergroupsasourresearchtopicandweusedtheknowledgeofKohlberg’scognitivemoraldevelopmentmodeltoanalyzethepersonalethicsfactorandcorporatesocialresponsibilityproceededfromstakeholders.Wecan’tallowanymistakessothateverylinkwascrystallizedourcarefulnessandpatience.Finally,weusedthesoftwarePreziwhoaremorevisualotherthanPowerPointtoshowourresultofresearchandwoneveryone’spraise.AmongallthecompetitionsandactivitiesItookpartinduringuniversity,theCIMAGlobalBusinessChallengein2013wasthemostmeaningfulone.Beforethat,IformedateamtotakepartinCIMAin2012once.Becauseoftheinappropriatearrangementofteammembers,wefailed.Theresultstaughtmethatasateamleader,Ishouldarrangeeachmemberaccordingtotheirabilityandmakeeveryonedotheirbest.So,westartedoveragainin2013.Inpreliminarycontest,wewererequiredtomakeareportofatoycompany.Combiningwiththecompany’sbusinessscope,supplychain,financialcondition,personnelaspectsandseveralprojectssuchaslaunchandpurchaseplan,wesummedupsevenproblemstoresearchonandallocatingthemtoeachmemberappropriately.Wediscussedanddeliberatedeverynighttodealwiththeproblemsandmadesolutionstogether.Therewereargumentsduringourdiscussioninevitably,weconsultedsomeauthoritiestogiveussomeusefulsuggestionsandhelpusdealwitharguments.Finallywefinishedthereportofmorethan20pagesaftertendays.Wehadconfidenceinourreportbecauseoftheeffortwemade.Thenwecutouttheduckandenteredthetop6ineastchinadivision.Unfortunately,wemusttakethenationalexamofACCAatthetimeoffinalmatch.Wehadtobediscriminatingsowewithdrewfromthecompetitionatlast.Weallthinkthattheprocessweworkedtogetheristhemostpreciousexperienceweshouldtreasure.DuringundergraduateyearsinChina,Ilearnedmanyknowledgeaboutaccountingfrombooksbutdidn’thavechancestoputtheseknowledgeintopractice.Thus,Iwanttogetmoreopportunitiestoimprovemypracticalskillsduringmygraduateyearsabroad.Ialsowanttofindapart-timejobtogetsomeinternshipexperiences.Aftermygraduateschooling,Iprefertoworkinauditcompany,suchasthebigfouraccountingfirms,topromotemyprofessionskillinaccountingandtempermywill.IbelieveIcanimprovemyselfbetterunderhighpressureinthesetopcompanies.FinancialservicesindustryisalsoanfieldIdesiretoenterinthefuture.NowIamworkinginCBC.Doingcashbusinessandnon-cashbusiness,dealingwithclients’consultations,recheckingthecashbusinessandpromotingcreditcardandInsurancearemymainjob.Ihaveagreatmindtomakeupmydeficiencyinfinancebythestudyduringgraduateyears.TheleadingpositionandfamilyculturephilosophyofCitibankattractsmyeyesextremely.SotheCitibankisalsoaperfectchoiceformetomakeeffortstoworkin.NowIamreadytostartmygraduatestudyabroadtoenrichmyself.
