ñíûpersonalstatement*ºHðWrittenbyAdministratorTuesday,27April201016:35-IhavechosentoapplyforanEnglishbasedcoursebecauseIhavealwaysfoundthesubjectrewardingandfulfilling.Itakeakeeninterestinallaspectsofliterature,andmyA-levelsubjectshaveaidedmeintheappreciationofalltexts.Ifindclassicliteratureparticularlystimulating,andthroughmyEnglishLiteraturecourse,IhavedevelopedaloveofJohnDonne. Myworkexperienceinatheatrealsoignitedathespiandesiretoperform,andIhavehadexperienceintwomajorrolesinschoolplays.IamstudyingtotakeanadvancedS-LevelEnglishcourse,whichIhopewillpreparemefordegreelevelEnglish,aswellasfurtherbroadeningmyreading.IwishtostudyEnglishatuniversity,asIbelieveitwillassistmeinmyintendedmedia-basedcareer.Myinterestinliteraturealsofuelsmydesiretotravel.InspiredbymyModernHistoryclasses,bookssuchasADanceBetweenFlamesandColdWarspythrillers,lastsummerItookatouraroundeasternEuropeandRussia.IamanexperiencedtravellerandIhavefoundthattravellinghasbroadenedmyhorizons,andmademeamorematureandindependentperson.IthasalsodevelopedmycommunicationanddiplomaticskillsaswellasimprovingmyspokenGerman.IhavetakenpartinaGermanexchangewhilstatcollege,andhaveindependentlyvisitedafamilyinGermanymanytimes,IenjoyedthechallengeofcommunicatinginGerman,aswellasembracingtheGermanculture.Ibelievethatknowledgeofforeignculturesisvitalinthestudyandappreciationofliterature.ArecentcollegeorganisedvisittotheOberammergauPassionPlayandneighbouringBerlinandSalzburghasencouragedaninterestintheology,whichIintendtocontinuewithinmyEnglishcourse.RolesofresponsibilitysuchasDeputyHeadGirlatschool,involvementinapairedreadingschemeandoneyearsexperienceinasteadypart-timejobhaverefinedmyorganisationanddevelopedmycommunicativeskills.Outsidecollegeandwork,Ienjoyavariedandfullsociallife,Iamakeentheatre-goerandfitnessfanatic,Itakepartinweeklypilatesclasseswhichhelptoeasetensionandstress.Ialsotakeaspecialinterestinmusicandfilm,andespeciallyenjoyfestivalsandconcerts.MyloveoffilmcentresaroundHollywoodclassics,althoughmyMediaStudiesA-levelencouragesmetoexplorecontemporaryalternativefilmsonoffer.1/2ñíûpersonalstatement*ºHðWrittenbyAdministratorTuesday,27April201016:35-Iamahard-working,determinedstudent,whoenjoyslifeandthetrialsandtribulationsitbrings.IbelievethatIamwellsuitedtoanEnglishbasedcoursebecausemypastimesandinterestsarecentredaroundthesubject,andIfinditthoroughlyenjoyable 2/2
